At the begining of the song daydream beliver by the monkees it says some words i think they say:
Chip: 7A
Davy: What number is this Chip?
Chip: 7A
Davy: Whoah. Don't mean it. Don't get exited man. It's cause I'm short I know"
is that what it says?

I think you've got it, except for the bit about "Don't mean it." I thought that was "Now wait a minute." He is speaking very fast there, but I think that's what he's saying.
It always sounded to me like he had just taken a drag off a cigarette.

I always thought that it was Davy saying What number is this, Chaps and the rest of the group says 7A
