Load isn't fast, but isn't unreasonable either. I would remove the talking person and put text instead. I can read a lot faster than I can hear, and she is very annoying. Its certainly a neat bit of technology, but this is definitely not the place for it. A nice, simple, introduction would be appreciated much more, along side a simple menu with easy navigation. However, if all you are concerned with is loading time then your fine.

Honestly - I'd remove it - it does absolutely nothing for the site, the site is to sell carpets, how's a flash animation that takes ages to load on the front page supposed to do that. Such practice has come to be known as "Flashturbation".
It doesn't matter how quick a computer/connection they have, you have something on the front page which takes time to load and will begin to annoy repeat vistors.
And of course if someone IS on dailup - they're going to leave that site and start looking at your clients competitors.
Think about this you want to buy a carpet and look online - what do you want? Instant access to their range of carpets and the prices? Or a progress bar stopping the page from loading just to finally get an animation of a woman which is voiced by microsoft speech software? Yeah it's all very clever and a novelty, buit it's not what I want - so I'm off to another website to buy my carpets - byeee!
The design is abysmal too - sorry for the tough love - but it really is very bad, you need to completely start again and design it better - or what's going to happen is someone is going to go to your client, show them how much better their site could look and permanently ruin you relationship with them, even if they are just down the road.

I'm current, so load time was good. But, heck, I think the page is neat as all get out. Haven't seen that before. I like the fact that after the spiel, if you move your finger over her face, her eyes track it. I would get another voice, however. Find a girl with some enthusiasm.

It loads well on my PC..
I'm using a 3 yrs old PC
Pentium 4 1.60 GHz (256 RAM)
Internet connection is ADSL 2.0M

pentium d 3ghz optimum online (cable) loads quite fast
