Hey everyone. I'm sort of panicing right now because I was appointed editor-in-cheif for the yearbook next year at my school. Right now we are trying to come up with a theme within the boundries of "change" because our school is going through a bunch of changes beginning next year. So basically, I'm looking for a clever way to put that as a theme and some catchy spin-offs for division pages [:

Thanks to anyone that can help!

You can use a synonym for each division page -

You could create a cover with a close-up shot of coins... :)

Use "Change" in each division title

CHANGING of the guard = graduation pics
CHANGING attitudes = academics?

Or possibly use synonyms for the word change: alteration, modification, variation, transformation, revolution, conversion, adjustment, amendment, difference, coins

The best bet is to open it to your staff in a brainstorming session. I've even opened it to the school in a contest "Come up with the best theme and subsets (most people don't understand "division pages") and win a free (half-priced?) yearbook." People see THAT carrot & often come up with some great ideas. Talk to your rep about providing the prize or build in the cost into a fundraiser. Give an example from years past & post it in English classes or the halls.

As an added tip, don't forget to put your sales flyers on the inside doors of bathroom stalls - we had our best sales years when we did this. :)

Consider "metamorphasis" as your theme.

The division pages could feature some of your star students, with their baby pictures featured along with the grown up pictures. The message is that change is good and beautiful!

For fun, your homecoming queen and king could be featured as a caterpillar and a tadpole respectively. The caterpillar turns into a butterfly which turns into the queen; the tadpole turns into a frog which turns into a king!
