It's algae and not at all harmful for your fish. Just scarpe it off before you do your regular water changes. (you are I hope ) Changing about 30-40% of the water every week and cleaning the gravel as you siphon out the old water will really help keep the algae from growing.

Don't get a suckerfish. Goldfish can only live in the tank with other Goldfish. If you get a suckerfish, he may live in there for a week, maybe 2, and then he will die. It would be cruel. Goldfish produce an oil in their scales that is harmful to all other types of fish. It doesn't kill them right away, slowly...
My tank gets this on the glass too. I just wipe it off with a washcloth, and make sure to put Am-Quel every month to get rid of the ammonia - not sure what the brown stuff is, but it wipes off pretty easy. Sucker fish is a bad idea though.

It's probably a mixture of the bacteria coming from your fish's waste along with algae. I would put the fish in a bowl that has the same temperature of their water, and clean their tank out. You normally have to do this every 2-3 months.

if its green its algae, if its brown its rotting fish food, your over feeding your fish.Which will cause more amonia in your tank. If its not gone in 30 seconds you over fed. The fishfood companies tell you to feed several times per day, because they want you to run out of fish food faster, so youll buy more. I just feed my fish once per day, some of them I feed every other day.

It looks and smells nasty but if you have a filtersystem then wipeitdown with a clean rag (rinsed in vinegar then watter) and let the watter circulate for awhile then change the filter floss. Some fish benifit by this build up.

NOT harmful to fish. This usually means you need to clean & purify the water badly. No harm done. This could also be just extra food left over. Oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
