The first time I read it, I was young enough to be just grossed out and didn't like it at all.

However, I've read it again since then and think the writing style is captivating--the differences in construction--I remember one chapter where the paragraphs get shorter until the end. It made for very exciting reading.

Also, I think the whole thing is a metaphor for our society and consumer worship. Clearly it's far fetched to have an entirely test tube baby society, but castes are very real. And I do believe that what we want in our lives is very much determined by what capitalism teaches us to want. I don't think we have a natural need to drive Porsches and wear Seven jeans--I think we're told that's what is good, so we go for it. They worship Ford in the book, and though that seems really far fetched, it's rather close to reality. The author also touches on the human obsession with status, with Bernard always trying to fit in, and with what happens to those who don't fit the mold.

In the end, I think it's a great book.

I read Brave New World two years ago. What I remember to be far-fetched about the book is that it's so far in the future. I also thought that the whole cloning thing was really far-fetched. I also think that years from now people who get old or people who are sick or people who are not what society wanted will not be sent to live on reservations or isolated islands.
What interested me in the book was John. I thought that it was wierd how gullable he was. When Lenina comes on to him, he calls her a dirty whore but he feels even worse about himself. I also thought that it was wierd how he punished himself for every little thing he think he did wrong.
Some symbolism in the book was the eagle, snakes, and human blood that they were worshiping.
Sorry if this wasn't helpful. I don't remember much about the book.

I found the pills that everyone takes is a little far fetched. Kids encouraged by adults to engage in sex. The whole wilderness issue.

that book was really weird, i read that book my junior year of high school, (i'm a freshman in college), i really think the whole book is far-fetched, and i don't think mothers will ever be thought of as disgusting while unprotected sex will be chaste, that's ridiculous, just a depressing book really, you can feel the authors hatred for big governments
