All of the above that say it can be caused by a recessive gene are right but occasionally it can result from a somatic mutation after fertilization of the egg. So it is possible (but rare) for animals without any recessive genes for albinism to have an offspring that is an albino. These somatic mutations are how the first albinos occurred.

It surely is. Its a recessive trait.

So if your mom and dad are both Albino you have a 100% chance of being an albino as well.
