You can get a crisis loan from the dole office but don't expect it to be a simple and straightforward thing. You'll need to turn up at the office as soon as they open in the morning and expect to be kept waiting ALL DAY. ..... I don't mean quite a long time or even a few hours. I mean ALL DAY.

You'll, more than likely, only get a cheque at the last minute and be lucky to get to a post office to cash it before they close.

Tip. Ask for as little as as you can possibly cope with to get you to your next regular payment. You have to pay it back from your dole and you really, really can't afford much.

Another possible solution is The Big Issue. It's supposed to be only for homeless people but if you're desperate and there's a possibility your money crisis could lead to you becoming homeless, they'll stretch the point and badge you up to sell.

Before the new Issue comes out later in the week, they let new vendors start immediately. The first 10 issues are given to new vendors free of charge. (at least that was the deal when I did it.) After you, or your partner, sell these you have to buy the stock.

Here in the States we have Payday Loan places. They charge a lot of interest if you go over the one week limit. It is not a good habit to get into. Do you have them ? Is there a church or social service agency that will give you the food ?? That might be your best bet. Good Luck. Too bad we don't live close togather, I would take you to the grocery and get you some food.

If you're that deperate, sell something. Did you try for a temporary overdraft from your bank? They'll sometimes put one on as long as you can show there will be income coming into it to pay it back
