When no family is found for the deceased, the State steps in to pay the fees. But they always cremate as it is cheaper and they dispose of the ashes. No burial, no furneral, no grave.

This is true, it happened to my father. LA county cremated him. They tried to find relatives but he did not have his wallet on him when he died walking down the street in Los Angeles.
Without a wallet they go no further. And many times you are classified as "John Doe" unless they can prove your name.
Thankfully they knew his name but that was it.

It is always good to have ID as you never know what will happen and when you could die. It is an awful thing to die without your family.

The burial expenses for someone who has no family will be paid by the state or county through the general hospital.or maybe by a social institution or by the people who found the dead body in remote area.

In Los Angeles county, the county cremates and has a mass burial with only a marker for the year.

The state usually does. And they get the cheapest possible burial. We're talking standard pine box. No headstone. Nothing, just a hole and some dirt kicked on you.

It is the law then government or state pays, well up to a certain amount.
But not so easy, they look at all avenues before they give their ok on this decision.
First see if natural death or ones at fault. (Mostly insurance plan /s). They do look into seeing if deceased has any insurance, death plan/ policies.

Actually, the county does that. They have a county cemetery, and whether it's burial or cremation is their choice.
