Without those cultures we would not have corn, beans, tortillas, chocolate, chewing gum, cola, tobacco, coca, tomatoes, potatoes, peanuts, rubber, basketball, enemas, or cotton.
The Maya were the greatest mathematicians and astronomers in the world. Their calendar was more accurate than our own, they correctly predicted the position of the planet Venus hundreds of years in the future and they were the first culture to use a proper zero. The Incas ruled the largest empire in the New World without the benefit of the horse, metal weapons, or writing. The Aztec capital,Tenochtitlan was the cleanest and most organized big city in the world at the time.
