E-Bay Selling Tips?

Question

Does anyone have tips about selling items on ebay.
I don't want to buy a book. But if you have personal experience or have read one of the books (and can give me some tips without infringing on copyright) then i'd appreciate the tips. Also, how do you know what people want to buy?

It really depends....are you trying to sell things in mass? Or simply trying to get rid of things around the house (and make some spare change at the same time?

I often try to sell some unused stuff around my house. I usually can find out if the item is worth selling by typing that same item into eBay's search feature. How many people are selling the same item? How many people are bidding on these items? The popularity of those existing auctions will also tell me the starting price for my own auction--if I end up selling that item.

Like the person above me advised, try to add clear pictures of the items, and give a good description of what you are selling. It seems a bit weird to do, but often, I'll throw in a short story (if you can call it that) of why I'm selling the item. For instance, "I got a new driver for Christmas, so I'm selling this old one".
