My husband had me fill his gas can and I didn't close the top all the way. It spilled a bit in my trunk and it stinks every time I open my car doors. HELP?

You absolutely MUST "air it out." Closing the trunk had trapped the smell in, and it is such a strong odor, it has naturally migrated to the passenger compartment. Starting TONIGHT, leave the trunk open and windows down if you can. Airing out is your first line of defense. Then throwing out any pad or underlining it spilled on is next.

While the car is parked at home leave the trunk lid open so that it can air out. Try placing a bowl in the trunk with 5 or 6 ounces of dark vinegar which will deoderize the trunk space while the car is not in use.

Sprinkle cat litter in the trunk and leave it for a few days and then vaccum it out. Place some moth balls in a plastic butter dish and leave for another few days.

gas is hard as hell to get out, that and paint thinner. the stench stays forever and ever even after multiple washes. to get it out of your trunk you would need to rent a shampooer and give it many many cycles and just re-do it about three times. that should help.

Spray Lysol and Febree together in the trunk once and then an hour later, do it again. That should eliminate the smell.
