I think the better question would have been, what do Chinese or Japanese people eat for breakfast. My guess would be, "rice". And I personally, want more in the morning than a bowl of rice.

I would love chinese for breakfast. But I think I am a minority. Alot of people would not go for veggies and meat for breakfast. But if you open a morning chinese restaurant, people like me will be there!

I live in Tokyo, Japan and here alot of people eat breakfast alot if you want to eat Japanese. This is because during breakfast we serve things like, fish, octopus, and so on. The food ingredients in sushi is pretty cheap compared to breakfast.

chinese restaurants are open for their version of breakfast, which is called "dim sum." Dim sum consists of a small serving of steamed pastries with meat or seafood, such as dumplings, shu mai, etc.

personally, when i think of breakfast...i don't think of japanese or chinese food. i think of cereal or a chocolate muffin. chinese and japanese food is more of a lunch and dinner type of thing, than breakfast.

lack of popularity here in north america! besides, a lota modern & traditional asian-chinese eat those sweet breads or tarts, hotcakes, congee(rice soup) & crullers(deepfried bread) that u find in dim sum for the mornings. & they drink alota tea or soymilk. As for japs, they have traditional bkfsts called Ryokan, that include fish, eggs, bean curd, sea weed, salada, assorted cooked vegetable, desert, rice and miso-soup!

oh thats not necessarily true, depending on where you live. if you live in metropolitian areas, there are many dim sum shops that open as early as 6 am. if you're talking about classier 'formal' asian cuisines, it is probably because they're just lazy, or want to keep things orderly.
