If the egg came first then what incubated it and helped it hatch, if the chicken then where did it come from?
You could take a religious view and say all things were created whole, therefore has to be the chicken.
But then where did the chicken come from? Can you create something from nothing? Although it wouldn't have been from nothing as all things are just matter bound by energy, therefore the chicken can't have come first because it had to have been made from the matter and energy that once manifested as something else. That, of course, rules out the egg too, because if the egg came first then it too would have had to be made from matter and energy originally in something else.
Of course the possibility is that neither the chicken nor the egg came first, but they both appeared at the same time, and if you consider time only existing on the physical plane then they did, regardless of whether they didn't according to our concept of time.

Something had to lay the egg, so hypothetically speaking, the chicken but then again, what created the chicken, that came from the egg- it's a cycle.

I think that chickens were like some sort of cross breeds and hatched from an egg of two different birds and from them came the chicken :D ...so i think the egg came first

The egg, for a dinosaur (assuming a chicken came from a dinosaur) would be born a dinosaur, but once it lays a egg can it only be mutated then and be born as something else (a chicken.)

If it hadn't been for the chicken, the egg would never have been able to hatch. She has to keep them warm and roll them occasionally. The egg would never have incubated without a chicken to tend to it.
