For anyone to say that the military is not fighting this war with an arm and a half behind it's back, then you must be insane. To say that politicians are not the reason why this fight is not done and over with means it is time to take that small head of yours out of Pelosie rear end.

The entire idea of a 'war on terror' is stupid to say the least. Terror (i.e. terrorism) is a military tactic. How can you have a war on a tactic? You can't. You can not win (or lose really) a war on terror(ism). The best you can hope for is a stalemate, which is exactly what we have.
I see only 2 real options for Iraq:
1) Pull out completely and let the Iraqi's settle things themselves, or:
2) Send in 500,000 US troops to drive out the insurgents, occupy the entire nation, if we do this however we'll be in Iraq for the next 20 years.

its a Catch-22 situation. to win in iraq (if that is possible), would require us to kill about 50% of the population. this includes many women and children. killing this many women and children would fall into the category of war crimes or mass murder.

we tried and executed saddam for doing the same thing.

so, if you want to win, you have to become war criminals. if you are not willing to become war criminals, then you will have what we have today.

of course, killing half of the population of iraq would enrage the rest of the arab world, and many new fighters would stream into iraq from the neighboring countries.
