I have a desktop computer, and the monitor won't come on when I turn the tower on. I made sure everything was plugged in okay, and everything was. The tower comes on okay, but the monitor doesn't even act like its coming on. The last time this happened, my cousin said some thing was rattled loose when I moved it to another house. She readjusted it, and it worked fine after that up until tonight. I done what she done last time to make sure nothing was loose, and everything *seemed* okay. What could it be? How could it be fixed? Thanks in advance for all answers!

I did as the first answerer said and still nothing. Although when I unplug the cable, the monitor actually comes on and says no signal. The screws are tightened.

I've actually removed the side cover myself, I can do that part okay. The part I have the problem with is identifying the graphics card and readjusting it as the second answerer said, so if someone would be so kind as to tell me where I can find the graphics card, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Look on the back of the computer to find the plug where the monitor connects to. That card is the one you need to gently pull out. Ground yourself to something first (even if it's just touching a piece of metal nearby to get static out of you).

Be careful to touch the sides if the board not its center so you don't accidentally blow anything with static. Pull it out, look it over, if there's dust on it you may want to spray the inside of the machine out with a can of air.

Then plug it back in, this may seem a little odd and the card may not want to go in. Gently push it back into its slot, it may resist a little but don't fret, just don't go overboard.

Make sure all of your cables are plugged in both at the back of the computer and at the back of the monitor.

Also try plugging your monitor into a different surge protector/plug.

Hi. The next step is to reseat the graphics card. Not hard to do but maybe check with your cousin because the side cover needs to be removed.

make sure the video cable from the monitor to the tower is plugeed in securely to the tower - you will need to tighten the screws by hand
