Are you breastfeeding? If so, your baby is getting antibodies through your milk that will help prevent illness.
Wash your hands a lot and try not to be kissing all over baby's hands and face.

You are doing all of the right things, but if you want to feel safer, you can stop by the pharmacy to pick up a face mask to limit airborne germs from sneezing and coughing. That's what I do when one of us gets sick. My son is now 8 months old and hasn't been sick a day in his life. Because it is cold and flu season, make sure to keep adoring strangers at the supermarket at arms lengths as well. Protect your little angel further by bringing along disinfectant wipes (Like Lysol) to wash the bar and seat of your shopping cart as well. Oh, and the person who mentioned vinegar KNOWS what they are talking about, however, make sure it is apple cider vinegar!

dont worry too much i have 3 nasty germ giving kids and a newborn too, i am breastfeeding and thats the best help we can give them, my 3 older children have had colds and gastro and been near the baby with their little grubby hands and i have heart attacks when i see them cough on her, she is 13weeks and has escaped them so far, but when my 3rd baby was 5weeks old he caught a cold off the older 2 and it was a very mild cold, only lasting around 3 days, and my friends 10 week old caught a cold off her older siblings a couple of weeks ago, and again its only mild, so dont worry , and if it happens, it will b okay, good luck

The great news is that your son probably won't catch your cold if you continue to wash your hands and more importantly, breastfeed. Breastfeeding will transfer the needed antibodies to fight off the illness, keeping your son healthy. Good luck!

Go to the store and get a surgical mask for both you and your husband because cold are airborne. It is possible for her to catch it. You only have to wear it when you have her in your arms though. We had to do this for my preemie son, my husband and I both got a tummy virus two weeks after he was born, go figure.

A cold is a virus. "Anti-bacterial" anything is useless against a virus. Vinegar is the only anti-viral medication you can take that won't kill you too. I have heard of parent mixing a tablespoon in with the apple juice to keep the viruses down. Personally, I take 2 tablespoons, 2-4 times a day whenever I get a cold. It works very well. you can tweak that down and slip a teaspoon in with the li'l tyke's apple juice. Don't put in the milk, tho.

Sounds like you are doing the right things, washing your hands before touching him, etc. The only other thing I would reccomend is spraying things(and rooms) with Lysol. Just make sure he isn't in the room when you do.

A new born has a pretty good immune system. Keep cleaning your hands and try not to cough or sneeze around him. DO NOT give him the vinegar without consulting your doctor. His little system/stomach may not be able to handle it.
