Not all of her face is numb though. Just her eye and half way down her cheak. She also said that every once in awhileshe gets really sharp pain in her numb eye.I thought that she could have had a mini stroke but she shows no systoms other than the numbness.

Thats not a good sign, It could be a heartattack coming on, usually a side of your body gets numb, is her left arm any numb? take her to the ER plz!!! ASAP

There not always signs of stroke, your Mom could of had in her sleep. A stroke can come at any given time, nor is any stroke "mini" your body is trying to tell u something? Before the next, I would ask her to please see her Dr. Insurance r no.
We want to keep her around for many more years right?
Isn't there a free clinic in your area? Please see a Dr.

when any kind of stroke symptom goes away on their own in less then 24 hrs. it is called a transient ischemic attack (TIA). this is a warning that she is most likely to have a larger/ permanent stroke is about to occur in a per of about 3 months. it is very that she be evaluated by a physician to see if there might be some sort of preventive action that can be taken.

it may be a mini stroke, some people dont show symptoms at all or until its too late.

Doctor tomorrow if ya cant talk her into going tonight ...
if its a stroke the skin around the eye and cheek may droop because the muscles loose tension.

Yes, please do take mom to the emergency room I've had a couple of mini-strokes (I'm 60) and not checking it could lead to a full force stroke or brain cell damage.

She may have had a mini stroke, you need to get her evaluated now.. I mean NOW..If you don't get it checked and she did have a stroke she could have another larger one that would be much much worse.
