I have two Dojo Loaches (Weather Loaches). They favorites in our tank! They are so cute with their little front flippers. I did realize recently that they eat snails (may the 2 they ate rest in peace, we were unaware they snack on your kind). Who else has these things and loves them? If you do, any good stories?

I've found that the more of them you have...the better it is!! I had three different types in three different tanks......some of them hid alot..were really shy.....but after putting them all together they all play nice and get along great!!! Aside from my Gibbiceps, loaches are my fav fish!! My angelicas and lahochatas really like to play together......and then I have some botia morlettis.......they're kinda shady..but kool nonetheless!!!

i've got in no way seen them in the previous, yet they're lovable. Our climate loach replaced into the best fish in our community tank. while a front blew by he'd freak out and swim very right removed from one end of the tank to the different and back. i will seek for a sucking loach the subsequent time i'm on the puppy save, yet I fairly reccomend including a climate loach on your tank. They rock!

clown loaches are my favs. I used to have a breeding pair of clown loaches. They were about 4-5 inches long and 1 1/2 inches tall. They would cruise the tank (a 55 gallon with powerheads on each end) they absolutley loved the current. They would swim as hard as they could right into the powerheads then let it take them across the tank. I had them for about 6 years.
Catfish and loaches are my favorite fish. I have one of my tanks soley just for them. Of course there are clowns in there, but also tiger botias, hoplo cats, synosis cats, upside down cats, and a few lace cats. There are a few pairs of leporanis for color and some larger pearl danios for top swimmers. Had to save a south american redtail catfish today with pliers, as he tried to choke down a shovelnose catfish. The redtails get huge fast, fortunatley he let me pic him up and get the stuck fish out. He is sort of a pig..

I love the loaches that remain small and docile-----however the dojo and the japanese weather fish tend to get rather large and disruptive ------wildly stirring up the sediment in the bottom of the tank-----you can forget about having plants with the larger specimens.-i agree with you though on the 'cuteness factor'!
