Well, first of all, you must let folk know that you're lost. Then place yourself near the home or office of an agent or talent scout and chances are you will be "found."

Perform in as many prodcuctions in your city as possible.
You didn't include in which USA city you live. Find out, from your actor friends or your acting teacher, what the procedure is to get agents to see you perform on stage.
In NYC, actors mail their headshots/resume to Talent Agents. If an agent/agent assistant is interested in seeing the production in which the actor is appearing, he or she will attend the performance.
If the agent/agent assistant feels the actor is "right" for the agency they may call him or her for an audition/interivew.
Find out the procedure in your city and take it from there!

start out low like a local theatre if you can't wait, you aren't ready for the actual job. And if you really want you can pay to hire an agent.
