You're probably thinking of Van Morrison who may be confused as sounding like a woman. He's from Ireland so maybe the brogue is mistaken as womanly. Poco also sang a song in the 70's called Crazy Love but I'm guessing you're referring to the Van Morrison song. Both songs are cool, though.
