Do they see it and not fix it because they're lazy, or are they just not smart and don't know it's spelled wrong? In the past hour I've seen the word "people" spelled wrong 3 times. Is it really hard to correct it?

It is just plain laziness, they just type, and can' t be bother to reread what they just wrote so the person reading it will be able to understand. Or the ones that send you a message like Hw R U? Sure, it is a shortcut, but, not proper English. If you try to correct the person, they get all defensive, or just laugh at their ignorance. I often wonder how some of these people even graduated from High School or write something in their everyday life.

Someone recently noticed that on a major roadway in a nearby town, a state-erected sign pointing to "MUNICIPAL STADIUM" had the word "Municipal" spelled wrong and told the authorities, who said they would make the correction "a priority."
The sign had been there 8 YEARS before anyone noticed and reported the misspelling.

They're either too lazy, don't know how to spell it or if you people that one train letter that you can still read a word even if it's misspelled as long as the first and last letter are in the right place. Lkie tihs, not srue if it's awlyas ture.

is this English class? are we being graded for our grammar and spelling?No people make mistakes I am am educated and have typos very often,I rarely use spell check even when I should.As long as you understand what they are saying it doesnt matter if it is misspelled.To say someone is not smart for mistakes is wrong,also have you ever considered that people are trying? that maybe it is hard for them?Is it really so hard to just except people and there mistakes and maybe even bad spelling?

I am not sure, but it's a huge pet peeve of mine. I think it's a combination of laziness and stupidity, but mostly the lack of knowledge on correct spelling. Get a dictionary people! :)

I hate that. Some of the questions are misspelled so badly that you can't even understand the question! I just want to know where they got their diploma!

Sometimes they type so fast that they make mistakes. Maybe they can't spell. Spell check is right there. Use it people and proofread!
