Maybe your just a 'singles' type of person--you know, preferring individual songs over albums. There is nothing wrong with that, since I know a lot of people who have a varied taste like you. It just depends on your likes and dislikes. Personally, I enjoy rock, but I also enjoy artists like Bob Marley, Nick Drake, et cetera, even though they are considered to be a completely different genre. People who have varied tastes of music tend to know every song on the radio, which I find pretty cool.

I would say that you have a diverse taste in music. You would find it very boring if you only liked one kind of music, you would be depriving yourself of a load of good music from the last 50 years. So carry on enjoying the music that you like.

I used to listen to all sorts of music including Kate Bush (like you) and even Prince (!). I just plain got bored of it. These days I listen to Nu Wave, Screamo/emo and Metal (some of it thrash flavoured :) ). I think people should just listen to what they want to listen to. It makes no difference. Can you imagine the stick I used to get being 12 yrs old and listening to Prince when all my mates were getting into dance or rock? But I carried on listening because I enjoyed it. That's how it should be.

Throw in a bit of Stravinsky and Val Doonican and I`d give you 10 out of 10 for diversity in musical taste.

Tonight I was listening to John Lee Hooker, Sugababes, Nelly Furtado, Elvis and a bit of Israeli psych trance. Oh, and a podcast from Radio 4. I would go mad listening to the same kind of stuff for hours. Diversity is good.

Only if you also toss in Prokofiev, the organ at Wanamaker's General Court in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Philip Glass. Just to be on the safe side, you might also add Twisted Sister.

Who says you have to only like one sort of music. I love all sorts including the ones you have stated, along with dance trance, rock, and classical.
I think that most people if they were truthful listen to all genre dependant on their mood.
