Norton cannot remove spyware it is designed for removing viruses. you need an anti spyware program(spybot) to remove spyware.

(1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

(2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

it somewhat relies upon on no count in case you desire to finally get hold of an Anti-spyware application or no longer. If no longer then the unfastened version of advert-conscious(it additionally has paid variations yet so a techniques as i understand they grant no trials for those) , Spybot - seek & harm as properly as domicile windows Defender are all potential strategies. in case you're there is vogue Micro Anti-spyware, AVG Anti-spyware and undercover agent Sweeper(each of those has time constrained trials so which you will check out the classes before paying for them and all somewhat get rid of any got here across malware even interior the trial version. I strongly advise making use of a minimum of two of those classes because of the fact the different might %. up issues the different would not, enormously with unfastened variations.

Norton is an anti virus, you need anti spyware to block and remove spyware.
Switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

You need all these anti spyware programs;

Well I almost got "Spyware" when I first got my computer, and was told there's alot of cookies, and they dont block your firewalls, as good as McAfee does, so I went with McAfee instead.. It's a tad "Pricey" but it's worth evey penny I pay!! It's $69.99 a year, but it does scan's periodically on my whole computer, and will let me know when something isn't a trustworthy site to go into, and so forth.. Its really worth your money you put out for it.. I wouldn't know how you would go about cancelling 'spyware' unless you go through like McAfee and have them do it for you.....Good Luck on your decision, hun!! You wont regret changing over, I promise you this!! smile!!!

Oh dear - it looks like you've found out the hard way just how insecure and badly designed Microsoft Windows is!

Before connecting a Microsoft Windows system to the internet, you must first take as many precautions as you can.

For now, you can use SUPERAntiSpyware

http://www.superantispyware.com/

FREE edition to clean up your infestation.

But remember that even though you've cleaned this one out, Microsoft Windows is still vulnerable!

* Make sure you always run up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
* Always install all Microsoft security updates as soon as they come out.
* Ensure you have a properly configured firewall.
* Never use Internet Explorer (use Firefox instead) or MSN Messenger (Use GAIM or Trillian).
* Never download anything you don't understand.
* Never click on any ad banners.
* Never use any "P2P" file sharing programs.
* Consider the upgrade to Linux or Mac OS X to be free of adware / spyware / trojans
