They could and I wouldn't be surprised if they did. But I don't think they will, it'll be the Nets. Doesn't matter whether it's the Knicks, Nets, or Magic anyone of them would be beaten in 5 games by Detroit.
Go Pistons!!!!!

it is possible but improbable, the knicks have good players and they work out as a team but the have to win about 5-7 games to get in to the 8th place and the other teams who are fighting for the 8th place need to loose at least all of those games. With Dwight Howard and Grant Hill in the Orlando, Vince Carter and Jason Kidd in NJ and Andre Iguodala and Dalembert in Phili, it will be difficult fpr them to reach the 8th place. Even though they reach the 8th place, they have to play against the Detroit Pistons in the 1st round...

Yeah, they already are in 8th place and the other teams competing for the 8th seed like orlando and new jersey are all fading. To get an 8th seed, they don't even have to finish above .500. Not only that, but they'll probably crush the pistons in the first round like the heat did last season.

Thunder and Kings have been given certainly no risk. Knicks and greenbacks can conflict for the final playoff spot as East already have been given Pistons, Cavs, Celtics, Raptors, Magics, Hawks, Nets.

I think they can.. Except for teams who had bad year due to injuries like Hawks, Magic, Celtics, and Bucks. Any team in the East has a chance of making it to the playoffs..Eastern Conference is far easier than west.. And Marbury is doing a great job now, leadership..
