hmmmm... military secrets should not be revealed, plans on bringing troops home should not be revealed, and if you consider this lying, then i think these are necessary lies

Politicians actually dont have a limit they are mad liars and if your one.. sry no offence but these politicians dont even do 10 percent of what they say they are going to do. I hate politics it's so phony and it's lame... if a politician does not lie in this century then it's not politics so i state that politics is not politics without lying cheaters... i just hope bush doesnt read this

when does your Term in office start, and how far deep in the lie are you already? If you look at the current US Government, it seems that Lies and Deception are being used to their full extent. and besides, you should'nt worry about these things, just listen to the magic glowing box (TV) and it will tell you all you need to know.

Though ideally no one should ever lie, politicians have been doing it just enough to enable them to get into power or stay in power. Like Bush' saying invading Iraq was the right thing.

Should? None. But, we know better than that. No matter what their party affiliation, if a politician says the sky is blue, look to be sure.

The premise is that population is unable to decide on their own what is best for them, therefore they need to be protected from the truth. I totally disagree. While certain operational information could be temporarily withheld the outright hushing of the information and deception as well should be illegal. Wishful thinking, of course.

I think they should protect things that are crucial like military secrets or huge political disasters that were covered up that couldlead us to a war with china or something, they should lie when its necessary for the greater good.

Only when it is in the best interests of national security, and to protect American interests. And, it does happen - and I endorse it. But, that is more of a confidential scenario than the other types of immoral, dishonest "lying to cover your butt" kind of stuff.

If it TRULY has to do with national security, they kind of have to. Weapons of mass destruction? NO WAY. U-2? Yes.
