I am a Dialect Coach in the Chicago professional theatre community. I strongly recommend the David A. Stern series called "Acting With an Accent": each volume has a recording for you to practice with and a training guide to go along with it.

I use this series with adult and student actors, and have consistently found it to be thorough, reliable, and very user-friendly. Practice every day, out loud.

Here is the link to the amazon.com listing for the French CD and manual:

Many public libraries carry this series, as well.

Good luck!

Here is a great website for actors that features speakers from many different countries reading a paragraph in English (along with a phonetic transcription). Click on BROWSE, ATLAS/REGIONS, and then click on the map. There are lots of other search features to narrow down your choices.

Listen to the French Radio online - even if you don't pay attention to it, you brain will register the language's "music" and it will help you to fake an accent that doesn't sound too fabricated.

Practice your "r"s - if you can get the french r, no matter what you do with the rest, you'll sound french. Practice with movies.

And replace all your "th" by "z", that works pretty well too :)
