Well for one thing if they or any animal for that matter did not have feet they wouldn't be able to walk.. (Everything but sea creatures) Well penguins have a good reason for feet, to be honest. When the female lays her egg(In the winter when temperatures drop very low, remember they live in the coldest place on earth, Antartica) She carries it on her feet! Because it is so cold there that if the egg touches the ground the baby in it will freeze within a matter of seconds(You should watch March of the Penguins for more info) When the female has to go get food she will slowly tip the egg onto the males feet. This goes on for many months before the chick finally hatches. Then the new baby will even rest on their parents feet until able to walk(More of a waddle) Also when a baby the fat on a penguins stomach covers over the egg or hatchling to keep it warm. And they have wings to propel them through the water, cannot fly.
I hope this will help you out ^^

Penguins need their feet to walk upright just like other birds and us humans. They also use their feet to push themselves along the ice while on their bellies like sleds.
While in the water they use their feet like the rudder on a boat. So, that the feet are used to steer themselves through the water and maybe a little propulsion. The wings are used for most of the forward motion in water - as if they were flying, but underwater not in air.

the penguins have feet so that they can walk on the rock and ice their feet serve as flippers as well. Penguin feet are webbed just like a duck which helps them to swim faster in the water. the shape is designed to help them navigate in the water kind of like a duck th they also have claws which helps them to climb rocks. there feet are very important. by the way the type of feet they have is called webbed feet. some humans have it too.

Penquins keep their eggs between their legs and hatch it.
They also keep their young ones for such time that they can
be on their own. Also, immediately after getting out of the
sea water, they walk on the ice and even they want to skate, they use their feet for pushing them forward. Inside water,
they use their feet to paddle as the feet are webbed, each toe is connected by a small membrane. The legs are so shaped in order to be aerodynamic or hydrodynamic.

Not a very well thought out question. They need their feet to walk and stand and swim...basically to survive and do any kind of living! Their feet are webbed for swimming. Now, tell me, what is the point of you having a brain, capable of thought?

Well I guess that before they used them a lot to swim, I guess they havent fully evolved yet (though no one ever spots evolvong) I am not really sure if they use them to swim, maybe they use them to stir. maybe they have to hold on to steep rocks when they come ot of the sufcae to mate, but they DO need feet... a lot

So they can walk. And so they have something to propel them through the water. They are similar to ducks feet, which are like flippers.

When their babies hatch, they sit on the parent's feet to keep warm.
They need the webbing to swim fast.
On land...without feet, they'd have to flop around everywhere they need to be. Personally, I think feet are more efficient.
