A pun is a play on words, in which the terms or titles selected make light of the original name or meaning.

You probably knew this already.

So, what do you intend to name with this punny Harry Potter title? A paper for school? A song? A movie review? A porn film? It's hard to tell you how to "write a pun title" when you haven't said what you're naming.

Remember, the title is dependent upon the content, mood and direction of whatever it is you're titling.

Harried Plotter and the Shamer of Secretions.

You write a pun title by substituting like-sounding words for humorous effect.

For example, on one episode of MASH, Hawkeye and BJ got into a series of puns around the words "hot dog".
"Yippee tie eye ay, get along, little dogie." "I had a long little doggie once. It was a dachshund." "He couldn't cut the mustard." "I relish the thought of it!"
