I like to learn and be informed...if they throw slight entertainment in there great but if I feel like after an hr at the tube I am 5% dumber, thats what I am trying to avoid, thanks!

You can find a lot of great educational and very interesting shows on these channels:
1. science
2. discovery
3. national geographic
4. travel
5. history
6. The learning channel (TLC)
I recommend:
Planet Earth: an 11 part documentary will be on Discovery channel-I will not miss this! a must see.
also shows about egypt and global warming
on TLC: a new show we love is "Shalom in the Home."
