Here are some trends:
1. Elements increase in atomic number as you go across from left to right.
2. Elements increase in atomic number, atomic mass, and radius as you go from top to bottom.
3. Metals decrease in reactivity as you go from left to right. Within one group, the ones near the bottom are more reactive. Francium #1.
4. Nonmetals decrease in reactivity as you go from right to left and top to bottom. Within one group, the ones at the top are the most reactive. Fluorine #1. (does not include family 18...inert gases)
