Dont really think i need to give details, im sure you have all come across them. Things like 'who is the president of whatever country?' 'who invented the lightbulb?' or asking for metric conversions, type it into google. I mean common sense must point that out to them, or maybe they ask here because they are bored and looking for some way to pass the time [like i am here asking this question i have wondered about for a while]

As far as people asking research questions, it all comes down to the fact that people don't want to do their own homework. Let's face it how many people you know (excepting for the real academic ones) actually want to do homework? So they farm it out to anyone else who won't mind doing it for them. My two boys try to get me to do their homework all the time. It is just the way it is. Why bark when you can get the dog to do it for you?
