To be honest If people in the USA broke it all down and added up personal income tax, property tax, sales tax, gasoline tax, utility taxes and all the other miscelany of taxes that we pay, you would find that we already arent far away from socialist country tax rates.

Univ health care would just make it worse. unless as part of the deal of the USA having universal health care we started forcing pharmaceutical companies to charge other countries their fair share of the cost of pills. Then it would be even more expensive in other countries.
