Don't eat very much. Eat a snack/meal the size of your palm every couple of hours and eat plain things. Don't eat full size meals 3 times a day like you used to. Nothing greasy, spicy or really sweet and no fast food (for now). Get a routine down and your body will start to follow. It's not to say that you'll just have a bad day and throw up, so be prepared for that. Be sure to drink fluids through out the day. If you sip 4-8 oz 30 minutes before you eat it will aid a little with digestion, becuase I know that my stomach doesn't take well to food w/o fluids from earlier becuase it just sits there and doens't go anywhere (but up!). On the other hand of drinking fluids, don't drink them while eating. Try to only take a couple of sips if you really need it.
A couple snack ideas:
Cheddar cheese alone or with slices of apple
Saltines
Bananas
Granola bars
1/2 PB&J sandwich

When you're plagued with morning sickness, etc. It's better I found to eat small portions but more than three times a day.
When I felt like I was going to get sick, saltines and ginger ale do the trick. I would keep a little container of saltines and have 1 or 2 before getting out of bed in the a.m.

You don't, sometimes it happens and it doesn't matter what you eat, but saltines sometimes help.
