I can't figure out what to name it. I have looked at all the Therapeutic Massage names in the phone book. I need a name that will stand out...A name that every one will know it is a lagitamite business, but will catch their eye when they see it in the phone book or on a business card and/or flyer.
I am American Indian, from the Shawnee Tribe. I thought of Massage by Shawnee, or A massage by Shawnee...you get my drift. I need a name that is catchy. My brain blank as far as a name for my business is concerned. This is a name that will be everywhere I advertise, so it has to be good.

PS: No nasty remarks from the men, please. This is serious!!!

While I don't really have any brilliant ideas on what to name your business, I would just advise you to try to integrate a word like "professional" or "healing touch" or "wellness" into it, in order to project the kind of image you are seeking.

I can understand wanting to use the Indian angle, but consider that Shawnee also could be viewed as a girl's name, and may not conjure up the image you'd hope it would.

Many LMTs simply use their names, followed by their title, in the phone book, and I think that looks very professional. There are options for you to stand out in the yellow pages, including bold text, colored (red) text, a box, or even a nice display ad. I'd certainly look into these options.

I wish you luck with it!

I agree with some of the previous answers that, unfortunately, using the name Shawnee will give the wrong impression of what kind of massuse you are.

I would suggest that you use a name that puts you as close as possible to the beginning of the alphabetical listings.

Aromatherapy Massage

Ageless Beauty

American Indian Intuitive Touch

Attentive Touch

...something like that. You can always add a catchphrase as well, like. "Experience a touchining moment" or "Relax at a touching moment"

What about a Brazilian name?

* Paraíso (It means Heaven)

What about a french name?

* Clinique du Shawnee (It means Shawnee's Clinic)

Or you can choose one of these:

* Your name's Heaven
* Relax Point
* Stay Zen
* Relax Island

This is it. I wish I could hep. I'm so sorry I wrote something wrong. (I'm Brazilian)

One day I'm going to your clinic, ok?

Halliburton seems to be very much in the news these days.....Sorry, let me try again, some therapists work from a chiropractor's office to get started. That will help you build a client list. Or you could try working in a spa or salon for a while.
What's wrong with your name?
