Your baby girl's lucky to have a smart Mama... who loves her enough to worry and search for answers . . .
Above all else, do NOT give any baby or child under 14 Pepto-Bismol or any over the counter meds, many of which contains aspirin & cause terrible liver damage.
In doubt? Ask the pharmacist...
Your baby's so young that she can become dehydrated very quickly.
Pedialyte is expensive but worth it because it will replace the sodium, potassium, etc that she's losing with every B.M.
If not that, clear Gatorade will work.
When the electrolytes of such a tiny person are thrown off, they become very sick very fast...diarrhea & vomiting can do that in less that 12 hours.
Have you called her doctor or clinic?
If not, do so.
Do you have access to affordable medical care?
If not, take her to any emergency room---they cannot refuse to treat her.
Are you breast-feeding?
Then don't drink milk or eat dairy foods until she's better--
Whatever we eat passes to our baby--often causing terrible colic in babies who can't tolerate dairy--that means milk & all milk-products---cheese/yogurt/ice-cream, etc.
If you're bottle feeding, switch her to a Soy Formula...everything else is milk based & not good for her.
For older babies, docs use the BRT diet: Bananas, Rice, Toast-
-In other words---starchy foods--no fruits or veggies--no juice or dairy products.
Bananas are the best at her age---
If she's eating solids, mash them well and start with small amounts mixed with breast milk or soy formula...
With the right size nipple, you can put it in a bottle.
If not, eat a lot of bananas yourself.
Please know that your baby's in our prayers---
Let us know how she's doing, okay?
Hugs...

Are u giving her straight apple juice without water? It appears
she is given something in her she cannot digest. But what I do since I'm not there I suggest bring in an elderly person to monitor what it is. It could be r best friend's Mom, a friend's Mom, anybody, or r baby is going to be dehydrated, even more have problems with his annal track. It might take 1/2 a
day - to pin point what is wrong, but please get someone in &
do all u do naturaly and if this women's had a baby 1234 of them she'll can tell u straight up what it is! Remember way back in the 1950's or 60's you were on r own once you left the hosital, same applies here if u have no medical coverage
so don't be ashamed to ask 4 help, some of us care and do understand. You're a new Mom, with a newborn, and this to me is a crisis. Please don't go another day without seeking help, I feel for you and what the baby must be going through!
God will help you, if you ask Him.
May he be with you & Baby,
Summer

Its pretty common for babies to have diarhea. They are developing immunities and are exposed to unfamilar bacteria. Many bacteria are rid from the body through the feces. They body size is quite small, however, so dehydration can become a problem in some cases. As long as he/she is not running a fever I would give it 24 hours or so. If it persists or becomes excessive, I would contact the baby's pediatritian.

Diarrhea in a newborn is not good, if it lasts more than 24 hours, see a Dr. immediately.
Your baby can dehydrate very rapidly.
A Dr.'s examination could tell you why, or if it's flu or another type of illness.
Please don't wait.
I wish you and baby all the best.
PS....diarrhea meds for children under 2 yrs. old are not recommened, only by a Dr.s recommendation ONLY

Many things to check.. diet. Breastfeeding? if so continue and do it frequently. Formula? baby should be only on either one of the two or a combo of both. But if you just recently switched it could be an allergic reaction to the change.
Otherwise... might be the cold/stomach flu. Make sure you have plenty of wet diapers and that the baby is alert and feeding. If he/she becomes too tired and does not respond well, then call your doctor ASAP. Have you been around sick people lately? Make sure you tell your friends that if they are sick or their kids are sick that they stay away. And anyone who is near the baby needs to wash their hands first!

Well, if she had a fever you could be dealing with a virus. In a baby this young better to be safe than sorry, call her pediatrician. Keep her hydrated in the meantime by giving smaller, but morre frequent feedings, and if the diarhea is really bad, also supplement with pedialyte.

Check with your pharmacist. There is an over the counter medication for babies but I can't remember the name of it. It will stop the diarrhea. Just make sure she's still getting plenty of fluids cause she can dehydrate if you don't. I'm mom to 3.

My 2 month old nephew got a very bad viral infection that caused him to have unstoppable diarrhea and he had to be hospitalized and placed on IV fluids. Tiny babies can dehydrate very quickly. Call a doctor or take her to the ER.

I am an herbalist with 3 small kids and i do not advocate talking to doctors about everything, or anyting for that matter ,but in this case i would definaltly call your doctor. If you dont have one, call the er and have the dr or nurse on call call you. I have done that since i dont have insurance. They have always been happy to do it. Also if you look in the yellow pages there are usually 24hr free nurse lines or you could call the pediatic ward of your local hospital.

talk to you baby's doctor but until then the best thing I can tell you to give to your baby is Pedialyte it's a drink made just for baby's under a year old that have diarrhea. And I can say it works great because I always gave it to my daughter when she was teething because she would always get the runs when she was cutting teeth and the Pedialyte seemed to help her allot.
I hope this helps you and I hope your little one gets better.
