Go to your local Home Depot, Lowe's or nursery and I'm sure they have some spray you can apply to your plants that will leave a bad taste in their mouths. Or maybe a big scary dog will do the trick? I have a Jack Russell Terrier and he has scared off most of the raccoons in our yard.

Two things I know about are urine markings and hair. The scent of an animal or human being is what will scare off rabbits.

You can have a dog mark the territory or a human being. Males would obviously be better equipped for this than females would be. Another suggestion is to spread clippings of hair. It can be human hair from the barber or hairdresser, or dog hair from the groomer.

Once the scent is diminished by rain or irrigation, you have to repeat the application.

The only other way is to use field fencing around the entire perimeter of the yard, with chicken wire buried at the base so rabbits cannot dig under the fence. Rabbits are very persistent critters!

Borrow your neighbor's dog and let him pee in your yard. I have no problems with bunnies because I let my beagle pee in my yard. Other things that work are predator urine (like fox or lion) and dried blood. I just saw a product today that had dried blood and nicotine. Can't think what the nicotine does but maybe another poster will know? Good luck! My poor dad has so much trouble with bunnies. I keep offering to lend him my doggie but he's not a dog person...

Yep, Platypus is right, you have to reapply any products after it rains.

I have this problem too.I'm trying plastic bags weighted down with rocks.or tied to the shrubs so they don't blow away.I did this yesterday after discovering the little rodents had eaten the plants I put on my old horses grave. They didn't come back last night because the plants wernt eaten any more.I hope this helps.

We have used this method for years and it works great!
Buy a small sprayer or mister.....depends on how much spraying you are going to do.
Put a gallon of water in it and an ounce or two of Tabasco sauce.
Shake and spray. Rabbits won't touch the plant.

I, too have been very successful with a coonhound! It was like the stampede scene in Tarzan when she flew out the door! However, predator urine, dried blood(a good source of nutrients), garlic and pepper spray, fish fertilizer all work till it rains.

Either a hound dog, terrier, or daschund are best breeds. There will be no rabbits with those guys. I have a Jack Russell Terrier and we have no moles, rabbits or mice on our acre and I have a large garden (w/chicken wire around it).

I suggest chicken wire around your plants if you are not going to fence your yard.

Good luck to ya!
