(I apologise in advance, this is an astrological question, not an astronomical one)
Astrologers base their 'art' on the fact that there are 12 constellations. However there are 13 (Ophiuchus is forgotten).
So what does that mean about the validity of horoscopes?

Go here, the Sun does pass through Ophiuchus. Actually the site says the Sun spends approx 7 days in Scopius and 18 days in Ophiuchus.

The zodiac (the signs included in astrology) constists only of the signs that the sun, moon, and planets pass through. Since astrology is all about what planets are in what signs, the other constellations have no significance. That's why Ophiuchus is forgotten. Since the sun, moon, and planets never pass through him, he's useless.

Let me explain. Let's say you are born on August 10. You would be a Leo because the sun was in that constellation when you were born. You could have been any sign of the zodiac if the sun was in that constellation. If you were born on November 5, you would be a Scorpio because the sun was in that constellation when you were born.

Yes, I guess you would be an Ophiuchus if the sun was in that sign when you were born. But the sun is never in that sign. So do you see what I mean? He can't be used in astrology.

It means very little. Most astrologers gave up looking at the real sky long ago.
