Juegan al jai alai o pelota vasca en una cancha. Los jugadores son pelotaris. Llevan un pantalón blanco, una camisa blanca, una faja roja y alpargatas. Tienen una cesta. Usan la cesta para lanzar y recibir la pelota. En la cancha de jai alai hay tres pareded. El fontón es la pared delantera. Fontón es también el nombre de toda la cancha. El jugador lanza la pelota con la cesta contra la pared. Cuando la pelota pega contra el fontón y rebota hacia el jugador, el pelotari tiene que devolver la pelota. Y la pelota viaja a unas ciento cincuenta millas por hora!

The are playing jai alai or vasca ball in a field. The players are pelotaris. They are wearing white pants, a white shirt, a red girdle and alpargatas. They have a cesta. They use the cesta to throw and receive the ball. On the jai alai field there are three walls. The fonton is the front wall. Fonton is also the name of the entire field. The player throws the ball with the cesta against the wall. When the ball hits against the fonton and bounces towards the player, the pelotari has to return the ball. And the ball travels at about one hundred and fifty miles per hour.
