The are playing jai alai or vasca ball in a field. The players are pelotaris. They are wearing white pants, a white shirt, a red girdle and alpargatas. They have a cesta. They use the cesta to throw and receive the ball. On the jai alai field there are three walls. The fonton is the front wall. Fonton is also the name of the entire field. The player throws the ball with the cesta against the wall. When the ball hits against the fonton and bounces towards the player, the pelotari has to return the ball. And the ball travels at about one hundred and fifty miles per hour.
