I want to ship a car to Russia; however, would anybody know the cost of paying the customs in the Russian port to let the car into the country? I could send it but the company only reaches the port. It is not a door to door service.

Shipping itself will cost you about 1000$ to Saint-Petersburg. After that you will have to pay border fee - depends on the year and engine size. The cheapest you can get is about 3500$ for 1.8 4 cylinder engine up to 7 years old car.

For example Nissan 350Z with 3.5 V6 engine will cost you about 10000$ to pay border fee.

If you trying to get into this business remember:
1) Be careful.
2) Be more careful.
3) Be extremely careful.
4) Border fee on cars 3-7 years old with 4 cylinder engine is most unexpensive.

It greatly depends on where it's going and for what purpose. If it's a privately owned auto for private use and is imported and registered by a Russian citizen, there is a lot of paperwork and a fair amount of taxes to pay. If it's purely a commercial venture, you can expect to pay a great deal of money, probably up to 20% of the car's value.

Of course, this all depends on the model/condition/engine size, etc. Of important note is that much of the tax is levied on the displacement of the engine. The smaller the cheaper.

You're best off to know somebody.

There are companies that can arrange cargo shipment, and then overland shipment from the port of delivery and help you clear customs. They cost more, of course, but unless you know someone in Russia, or are fairly fluent in the language, you're asking for trouble.
