Rocky 2 (My Fave)
Armaggedon (action packed)
Young Frankenstein (hilarious)
The Lion King (sentimental fave)
Goodfellas (best gangster movie)
Road to Perdition (my fave Tom Hanks)
Rainman (my fave 'buddy'/road movie)
Forrest Gump (Forrest is my hero)
The Color Purple (very inspiring)
Saving Private Ryan (fave war film)
I esp. recommend these:
Sports/Feel-Good: I don't know any one who doesn't like Rudy starring Sean Astin. If you like football, you'll love Rudy. Glory Road is a good one too.
Western: I recommend Kurt Russell's Tombstone as well. Open Range with Robert Duvall is a good one too.
Action: Armaggedon is my fave. Face Off is very good one too.
Mystery: Mysterious Skin it involves alien abduction and so much more. Memento is also a good one.
Comedy: Nothing makes me laugh harder than Young Frankenstein. If you don't mind crude humor, try Beerfest.
Sci-Fi/ Futuristic: Starship Troopers has millions of giant alien bugs getting blown to bits. V for Vendetta is a good one too.
Documentary: Murderball about wheelchair bound basketball games. An Inconvenient Truth is a good one too.
I hope these help. They're all very good films to watch.

this is a tenet not a stressful rapid rule. this is a private determination, yet maximum do attempt to stick to it. the reason of this is we are inspired to maintain our minds and methods clean. this is a medical actuality that each and every little thing we see, hear etc in this existence is saved someplace in our minds. no count what this is saved there despite in case you do not think of this is, and this outcomes your techniques given which you in no way recognize whilst those impure or violent etc. techniques are going to re look. There are some issues in existence that are purely not necessary to work out. i will inform you that I even have seen countless R rated movies, and a few even PG-13 with gory scenes that i in my view wish I hadn't seen. each and every now and then something will me take me back to the reality of it, and it comes back involuntarily. wish that helped answer your questions :) P.s. i won't have the ability to think of of one R rated action picture that did not have a reason to be a R rated action picture. the element is that we modify into so desensitized to issues because of the fact our lives are so saturated with issues that they don't look so undesirable anymore. that's yet another excuse that we are inspired to not watch irrelevant or questionable issues. once you're instructed repeatedly that this "element" (despite it may be) isn't as undesirable, you start to have self assurance it is not undesirable. think of with regard to the version in what's suitable from 10 years in the past vs now. there is stuff in movies now it particularly is primary as usual stuff that doesn't have even been allowed in a action picture 10 years in the past. Desensitize. it rather is slow and you do not even observe it. it rather is like the story with boiling a frog. placed a frog in boiling water and it will leap out. placed it in chilly water and then boil it slowly, it is going to stay in and boil itself. The media is almost a chilly pot boiling us until we don't observe it anymore :) (for loss of a greater useful occasion :)

The Goonies. Full of action, adventure, intrigue, hilarious comedy, drama, and treasure. You can't go wrong! And it's a suitable rating, either PG or PG-13.

You've Got Mail is a great one, I'm not sure about its rating though. Big, A Christmas Story (I'm not sure if people watch it any other season though), Toy Story, they're all great in my opinion. =)
