To get a better response, clarify if you are asking about the James Joyce novel "Ulysses" (Leopold Bloom is the main character) or the Ovid version of the "Odyssey" called "Ulysses."

For either one, focus on the difference between leaders and managers. Managers tell people what to do (The President sending troops to fight in Iraq), leaders encourage people to do the right thing and get the best from them; often leading the charge as they LEAD by example.

Um I've never read Ulysses, but some qualities found in a good leader include:

heroic
ego
strength
abilitiy to influence or lead other people
want or need to change something

(someone that specifically comes to my head when I think of leader is Stephen Colbert, just for an example)
