my 4 month old son for some reason prefers to spend time with me feeding changing bath playing rather than his mother i work 4 days aweek but when im home hes always alot more settled my partner always tells me what a terror hes been when im at work but hes always an angle when im around , infact it seems to be with her entire family, but he loves mine .is there any reason for this i was under the impression children favour there mothers? My partner is a good mother and she doesn't abuse him .

We are going through the same thing - I am home with the baby and my husband works 5 days a week. Our 6 weeks old cries most of the time when I am with him, but when his daddy is home, he will sleep or be good all day. We both love him with all our hearts and pay the same amount of attention, so I guess he is acting that way because he likes both of us around at the same time.

Babies do sense evil but they also sense stress, and if your partner is tired and stressed from being a mother, it may be affecting the baby. It is good that you help her when you get home, she needs it, and give her time she will get it going right. I am sure she is just fine as a mother.

No they can't sense evil. May be you are more gentle and fun. Children get a lot of attention from mothers so they cherish father's attention since it does not come by all the time. Also may be your partner is exaggerating.

I think that babies can sense when they are truly loved or just being tolerated. Are you sure that your partner is being good with your son? Also, some families are just more relaxed around babies and maybe your family is one of those. It just seems odd that your son is wonderful around you and your partner says hes a terror. I would investigate this further.

indeed they can. my little boy (7 weeks) always cracks up when his father holds him or when his fathers mother/little brother and sister hold him. i think my little boy sensed from the womb how much i dislike my partners family, and during my pregnany i was harassed no end by my partners family, causing me to get extremly angry with them. My little fella knows they are evil and thats fine by me. He is happy with my side of the family, infact he's even better with my parents and sister then he is with myself and partner.
sometimes babies just prefer certain people, i mean im sure you have friends/family members you like more then others.

yes the can!!! children can see things that you may not be able to see because you tell your self that its not real!!
