This may seem like a really simple answer, but you'd be surprised who you can find on MySpace. I've found people I went to elementary school with. If they don't show up on there, you can always try Google. There are services for which you can pay that supposedly will find people for you, but I'd go the free route before shelling out money for something like this.

Try asking from your other friends who knew them. Friends reunited is a good site to search for people if they're listed. It's also easy to find out where people are from government records which are available, think you'll be able to do it though your local council

A very good way is googling them if they do not have a common name. This typically gives you an street address and a phone number. If your friend has a common name odds are this won't work. If you know anything about them too, that would help (i.e. spouse's name, state they live in, etc). Good luck!
