I can not decide if I want to be a teacher or an occupational therapist. Both are good careers, but I just can not decide. The careers both have the same qualities such as helping people. A job in education and a job in healthcare, how do I decide on which one? Any insight, advice, or suggestions?

Teachers and occupational therapist are both excellent professions to have. So, why don't you choose them both? Double major! Think about it, an occupational therapist is a teacher. Therefore, you will be fulfilling both when you double major. Go for it! You know that you can do it. Good Luck! I wish you all the success in the world.

That would depend on how long you want to go to school. An OT is an entry level masters and you can't work as a therapist until you have graduated and passed the state boards. You will be qualified to also be an OT teacher but would need some experience first :) I love being an OT but I guess it would depend on what you are looking for in a career. I would recommend shadowing a therapist to get an idea of how well you would like doing the job.

Take an internship. There's not too much commitment and you can learn on the job.
