limewire is not illegal..its the sharing of the songs that is..

Limewire is not illegal, but people use it for illegal activity (music sharing, child porn). The chance of getting caught is slim, you can improve your chances of not getting caught by using Peer Guardian.
Music sharing is NOT stealing, because nothing is lost. When you steal a car, one person has a car and the other doesn't. When you share an mp3, a new copy of the mp3 is made. When you go into a store and steal CDs, the store loses inventory. This doesn't happen when you share digital music.
Saying someone stole music by file sharing it is like saying someone stole a painting by taking a photo of it. The photo is of less quality than the original painting, and the mp3 is of less quality than the CD.

Limewire itself is completely legal. However, you are able to break the law with the program. It's like a car. Cars are not illegal, but hitting someone or driving drunk is illegal. It's all in how you use them.

Yes, limewire is illegal. It doesn't matter if you are "sharing" music, you aren't paying for it, it's stealing!

it is legal. but if u "steal" songs or etc. from it, that is illegal. but people use it anyways. never heard of ares.
