You have some good answers here I wish I could have said some of them. You made some excellent points and I notice none of the usual liberals are coming up with their smart-*** answers so you know you showed clear thinking. I can only assume that the Democrats really think they are doing the right thing. I don't know how they think that but that is what it has to be. I don't believe that they would deliberately undermine their country. However I am not so sure about members of the media. It seems they go out of their way to print things they know they should not and then claim freedom of the press. What really makes me angry is the fact that if there were a Democrat in the White House they would never do such a thing. So great question.

I believe it is time we all asked ourselves several important questions concerning your inquisitivness.
Do we all believe that America has the potential to kill off all enemies?
Do we all understand who the enemy actually is?
And, most importantly, what is the purpose of keeping an active military?
Answers to my own questions.....
America ended World War ll in a few weeks by using the Atomic Bomb. I have to believe America has bigger and even better weapons now. Why fight a war with one hand tied behind your back? If not interested in dispatching war with efficiency and determination, I ask...why bother?
Did anyone stop to find out who the real enemies are that do the attacks...who backs them financially...where they are being born and raised....betcha somebody knows...can't believe we all are so dumb!
Since the military is one of the largest expenses of the American government (along with social services), keeping it going on and on stimulates the economy, and everyone wants a good economy, so keep the charade going!
Points made...I now rest.

cmon, this is an obvious one. its pelosi spin. or liberal media bias..take you pick..its the same type of clinton feel good poltics from the millenia. the idea here is people dont like the war so liberals villify bush and badmouth it to be popular. they could really care less about the outcome and want to further tax and spend with this type of smoke and mirrors act. consider the first hundred hours for example. pelosi voted herself a free 757 to junket her supporters, the liberals gave congressional voting rights, violating the constituion for non tax paying territories, hillary r. attempted to rewrite the consitution by appointing herself commander in chief via legislation to control iraq....i think you get the point. this is power poltics no more or less and the liberals will do all they can to maintain it to the point of keeping a brain damaged senator...literally, in office to maintain the majority. its sad and frankly enough to make you hurl.

i myself did no longer come across a query in this, yet i will respond. i'm useful I won't obtain your "perfect answer" vote, yet that's nice, as you appear as if somewhat deluded. We invaded Iraq per fake and manipulated intelligence. We have been going to save the international from Saddam's "weapons of mass destruction" which we stated that we knew have been there. We did attain toppling Saddam, and the result has been a civil war. Our considerable concentration, after 9/11 could desire to have been to break Al Qaeda. They weren't a considerable participant in Iraq until we invaded. Now, of direction they are in Iraq, because of the fact we are. we've radicalized thousands or hundreds of Arabs (Muslins) by way of our strikes, and we certainly could desire to get out of that war.

The reality of this situation is that both parties are all about political careers and nothing about the real problems, their root causes and solutions. You cannot have 800 million armchair quarterbacks guiding the armed forces of the U.S.
Unfortunately, most people cannot see past the end of their noses when it comes to real solutions and why. We can either jack around or finish the business that we started over there and not forget Iran either.
