sorry earyl i asked a question about are sump must not have posted it correctly. we know that the pipe that is capped of goes to the sewer we had a camera cause we had a broken pipe and thats when we found we had the sump. besides the sewer pipe that is in the sump and is capped there are 2 other pvc pipes. not sure if water comes in both or if water comes in the higher and goes out the lower. we know it is illegal to put the ground water into the public sewer and we really dont want to. but is it possible to put it in 1 of the other pipes as a discharge or should we just make a new hole up and out of the basement to the yard.

Unless you know where the existing lines discharge to, I would say it would be best to install a new line. This way you know where it is, and where it goes. Good luck!

what why not vent the run off to the sewer its got crap in it this would help flush the pipes clean ive worked on civil war era 1861 houses with a drain pipe running into the basement from the roof gutters to hit the top of the tree of sewer pipes in the basement so this isnt unusual at all
