Do you mean ideas for writing a short story or a short story to read?
If the latter, the short stories of O. Henry are good-"The Gift of the Magi" being one that is most memorable.
If the former, here are some ideas-
Meeting a friend in an unexpected place leads to embarrassment, then laughter.
Walking along a woodland path leads to finding a natural treasure.
Listening to music brings back memories of special people.

oh wow...thats a tough one. im like a story writer (mostly fanfics though but eh) but i cant really tell you what to write because whats interesting to me may not be interesting to you.
maybe you could write a story to live out your fantasies (for example if theres a guy that you really wanna hook up w/ explain what happens with you people) but make sure you have some struggles/drama b4 getting what you want.
oh hide the dirty parts since this is for school.
and also are you allowed to write fanfics? cuz if theres a tv show or celeb you like you could write about that....write what happens after the show. i know i was allowed to write fanfics for creative writing. i actually did it a few times. the teacher might have gotten a little tired of it after a while but he still liked my stuff. w/fanfics apparently im a very talented writer..thats what i do the best
i also put in a few characters of my own. to make it more interesting put in some new characters and crossover fanfics are also cool too (im working on one that crosses w/alot) like what would happen if Raven Baxter met Sabrina the teenage witch? i did that for keyboarding. id prefer you not use that but thats just an example..if you really want to you can

OK, so, once a pon a time, there was this girl named Timeka. You write about how that she is obese and eats HEAPING bowls of salty butter. Talk about how her parents are mean and hate her because she is fat. Then Timeka becomes anorexic because everyone hates her because she is fat. Then talk about the struggles of anorexia and then Timeka dies from it. Then talk about all the people including her parents that hated her because she was fat and felt guilty for giving Timeka an eating disorder. Then tell like at the end the moral of the story which is don't make fun of fat people or they will develop an eating disorder and die and it will be all your fault. Ok bye.

a girl like you meets a guy like me and falls in love. they struggle but live of each other's motivation and they have 10 kids and succesfull jobs. they win the lottery and they donate all of it to cancer research which helps them find the cure. the oldest child wins teen jeopardy and gets into stanford. the next oldest child becomes a short story writer. the stock market crashes and the family loses all of their money but they are so strong and their love for each other helps them pull through everything
