Depends on the provider. DirecTV charges $10 a month for HD channels. But remember you also have to buy or lease an HD receiver to watch them.

It only costs extra if you get a HD digital cable box from your cable company.. If you install cable cards into your television or into a series 3 Tivo, then you will not have to pay anything extra because HD is included on all cable cards for free.

sure you extremely rightly have mentioned what the present industry is.however the present liquid crystal demonstrate television`s can not produce a sturdy determination with out having a sturdy high quality enter(video/DVD). The manufactures supply HDTV television`s as standard.i'm not sure what the fee distinction for a HDTV or a non HDTV. the destiny is HDTV (no longer garlic bread) by way of fact by way of fact the demonstrate screen sizes enhance you like HDTV liquid crystal demonstrate/Plasma to demonstrate the improved image. My "old" television CRT reflects plenty greater desirable image than the hot liquid crystal demonstrate television`s interior the department stores. while HDTV content textile comes i will substitute to HDTV while this is affordable ( i won't arise with the money for Sky). The industry calls this destiny proving, i think this is sturdy merchandising from there point of view

Your cable package already includes HDTV channels most companies have about 20 total. The amount you get depends on your package--problem is that they won't work unless you rent 1 of their HDTV cable boxes which runs between $5-$12/m.

Hi Kaleem,
It costs $10 more a month in Chattanooga.
I was in Walmart today and in the electronics department they had "Rabbit Ear" antennas for $14.95. I am just getting it set up but on my first shot the over the air looks better then my cable did.
I can't drop cable because I depend on it for Internet but I can save $10 a month.

Comcast charges $5 a month for high definition service. It inlcudes a couple extra channels that you could not get with an over-the-air HDTV antenna.

It depends on who is your cable provider. Time Warner and Comcast does not charge as far as I know if you have someone other than that it is possible.
