My ipod was playing normally and then it started freezing. It began to make noises like it was working real hard but could get nowhere with itself. Then it went black and won't come on at all. Help?

When plugged into my computer it goes to charge mode. But when I did the hold off/on and menu/select thing it went to showing on the screen 'www.apple.ipod/support'...and it then went to the apple on the screen. It still makes the noise when I mess with it... By the way it is a fourth generation Ipod (right before the video one)...

This will fix almost anything. Turn the hold button to hold, then count to 10 slowly, then turn the hold button back. Then press and hold the Menu and Center buttons at the same time until you see the apple symbol. If this doesn't work, plug it in to your computer, click on you i-pod under devices, then on the "summary" tab, click restore. When that's done, click update. This should fix any problem like that. The i-pod does not need to be plugged in to do the first method of fixing it. If you still have problems, edit this question to say you did, I'll check back and help.

You need to do the hold, menu, and select thing when it's not plugged into the computer. When you plug it in to do the restore and update, it will begin charging, but you need to click your the i-pod under the devices column on the left side of i-tunes and click restore on that page, even though it's charging, then click update. Try the hold, select, menu first though without it plugged in.

If you try these two things again and they still don't fix your problem, I'd suggest calling Apple support at 1-800-275-2273 if your i-pod is still under the 90 day warranty. If the information I gave you did not help, I am very sorry and I hope you get things figured out. If you want to update me on what happens and see if I can help any more, feel free to edit the question again. Thanks

attempt sliding the carry change backward and forward some circumstances (in the time of from headphone jack), and then carry the middle and menu buttons down on the very similar circumstances until eventually eventually an apple seems on the exhibit. this resets the iPod and take a examine out to be sturdy to bypass.

well, that happened to my brother too, but what we did was that we took it back to Bestbuy and they gave us store credit and he bought something else with the store credit. :D
